The ZEBRA Poetry Film Festival is a project of the Literaturwerkstatt Berlin in cooperation with the German UNESCO Commission and interfilm Berlin and with the financial assistance, for which we are grateful, of the Hauptstadtkulturfonds, the Goethe Institute, the German-Israeli Future Forum Foundation, the German Foreign Ministry, the German Literature Fund and with the kind support of Alfred Ritter GmbH & Co KG and Toyota Deutschland GmbH. It is taking place under the aegis of the poesiefestival berlin.

For the 6th ZEBRA Poetry Film Festival Polish film makers Maciek Majewski, Łukasz Twarkowski and Wiola Sowa have collaborated with German poets Norbert Hummelt, Nico Bleutge and Christian Filips to make film versions of poems of theirs. Together they chose the poems and worked on turning them into scripts. In the run-up to the festival the pairs of artists were meeting up in Berlin to turn their ideas into films within six days. The short films that have been created in this way were premièred in the fesival. This ist Maciek Majewski film-version of Norbert Hummelts poem „Syrinx“.

Die Corona-Pandemie hat in den letzten eineinhalb Jahren als Katalysator gewirkt für einen Paradigmenwechsel in der Film- und Kinolandschaft, der schon seit mehreren Jahren zu beobachten war. Teilweise ist er auf die fortschreitende Digitalisierung zurückzuführen, teilweise auf eine kommerziell ausgerichtete Filmförderungspolitik. Über neue Auswertungsmöglichkeiten für Kurz- und Poesiefilme und ein Ineinandergreifen von Kino, Filmfestivals und Streaming diskutieren Lars Henrik Gass, Andreas Wildfang und Jana Cernik mit Annegret Richter, Geschäftsführerin der AG Animationsfilm, Deutschland.
